Retain paragraph formatting while pasting

Have you ever noticed that when you copy and paste a paragraph from a Word document, its formatting will change to the same formatting as the formatting of the text around it. How does one retain its original formatting when you have to copy it at another location?
Click the Paragraphs Markings button from the toolbar. It looks like . Now, copy and paste your text. The formatting will stay the same.
